Song Information:
I first heard The Tiler here macIdol. He posted a tune called The Race. I truly was floored by his command of the frets. I then discovered Richard Schlettys Waterboy'. His vocal abilities made me think he might be able to harmonize with me.
I thought it would be cool if The Tiler, Richard and myself could turn this tune Trampolines n Tambourines into something totally different and better.
The Tiler expressed to me that he really liked what I had done with my vocals and lyric. Then promising he would send me his idea for the guitar part as soon as he could.
Keeping his promise, I received the mp3. I edited it a tad to match my original arrangement / structure. I then emailed Richard and asked if he might want to find some harmonies and mix the song. To which he agreed.
So, well over 4 months later we called it a wrap. Enter Tobin Mueller. Tobin had discovered some small but oh so big snafus with the tune. At this point The Tiler and I left it up to Richard and Tobin to finalize.
And it is this mix and version that we are proud to offer up for a macIdol exclusive high fidelity recorded stream & download weighing in at 320 kpbs and a low fidelity download weighing in at the sites maximum low fidelity stream & download allowance, for the remaining month of September 2005.
I am done rambling and hope you enjoy this as much as we did creating it.
Song Lyrics:
She stands there with a light on her face,
lookin' in the mirror not likin' what she sees.
She feels the stare of shame.
She didn't mean what she said.
She didn't really wish that he was dead,
just wishes he'd go away.
This is her life on a trampoline,
bouncin along as she goes.
It's another night of nicotine n caffeine,
another day in the life, I suppose.
[interlude]
He wakes up to an empty bed,
thinkin' bout what got said.
He's haunted by the ghost of blame.
He wasn't sure what went wrong
but it must've gone on too long.
I guess some things never change.
This is his life on a trampoline,
bouncin' along as he goes.
It's another night of saltines n sardines
another day in the life, I suppose .
[interlude]
They greet the day with hearts wide open,
hopin' to be a little stronger n understanding.
But every day it's the same ole thing.
If only love had wings,
oh man, together they could fly away.
This is life on a trampoline,
shakin' their tambourines as they go.
It's another night of "let's kill the pain with the morphine".
It's another day in the life, I suppose.
Life's like trampolines n tambourines, straight out of a dream,
bouncin' n shakin' them old rattllin' bones.
Life's like trampolines n tambourines, straight out of a dream,
bouncin' n shakin' them old rattllin' bones.
