Song Information:
When football coach or baseball manager gives a press conference after quitting or being dismissed, reporters speak of it as being his "Swan Song." That expression comes from this sad song, the last song in the last book of songs that Franz Schubert wrote before he died of syphilis at the age of 31. The book of songs was given the name "Swan Songs."
This is a modern rendition of the lovely Serenade from that collection.
