This song is about the past preventing me from moving on in the future. This all began befriending M. Lyons in the 90's and when things got bad I was sold out by the Security Company at the time.
In my opinion Mr. Donovan is a very racist man who traveled over from the old company and hates blacks.
Now here we are in 2005 the Company has a new name but 10 years later won't hire me. Now I'm with a new Security Company and they to are screwing me over. Low pay and crap for benefits. Whats a guy to do?
