Song Information:

This is a song I'm working on at the moment, getting ready to record it in hi-fi for my demo. This particular mixdown is an adaptation of "Float Away" for acoustic guitar, and it was a chance for me to work on the feel of the song minus all the multitracking and guitar distortion. I liked it so much that I cleaned it up a little and decided to upload it here. It's still a *very* rough demo, so forgive any missed notes and sloppy strumming.

Song Lyrics:

(No vocal track included in this mix. Lyrics are subject to change.)

Verse 1:
And in that moment I felt more alive
More normal than I had ever conceived
And in that moment I felt more like
Everyone else that I had ever believed
And in that moment I fell in love
With how I felt and what I thought
And in that moment I fell in love
With what I did and how I did it

Chorus:
Float away on the new wave
Moving this fast you better be ready
For the floating to come up
from behind
You better be ready to kick it
Because you know you're not going to make it
Float away on the new wave but get out
while you can

Verse 2:
In times of trouble I thought I'd found
The answers to my problems found
In times of trouble I thought I'd need
Something more, this inside of me
And once I found what I thought
I saw inside human need
And once I'd found what I thought
The love burned a hole in me
Unleashing an uncontrollable beast
And overwhelming anxiety

Chorus:
Float away on the new wave
Moving this fast you better be ready
'Cause the floating will fall away
and you won't know it till you fall
Well I'm not going to make it
Because I didn't know I'd have to kick it
I float away on the new wave to cure
what I can

Bridge:
Can't you see it my way? Another way, to see you again
But it failed and I was left, with an aching hole, and now I'm stressed
Can't you see that it was my way, to cope with, what I'd lost?
Can't you see that it was never about, what I'd gained, or how I lost?

[Repeat second chorus]
