In his early days Elvis visited China. Even though he was already married,
his heart was tangled with a beautiful Chinese woman. During his very last
weeks, Elvis gathered his most trusted musician friends and made this
song.
You see, Elvis had never ever forgotten her. It is because of her that he
planned his disappearance from the fame and fortune he gained through his
music and movies. It was "Good Night, Elvis", taken from his closing remarks
on this song, after which this song was titled.
He knew he was leaving the building, He just didn't know when.
