Song Information:

Our friends Jasen and Becky recently got married on a cruise down in the Carribean. Since most of their friends couldn't attend, they had a party back home. I told them I would put a song together to commemorate the event.

When I sat down to write the lyrics, one of the cliche GarageBand loops got stuck in my head. The first verse wrapped itself around it, and by the time I was done there was no escape. I started the chorus with no particular tune in mind. As I started in with the music I decided to keep with the theme and use loops from the same family for all of the melody.

In the process of writing the song I was inspired by Jasen and Becky, but I was inspired by other folks, too. The lyrics have become universal, and are not meant to be telling their story specifically. Even so, I did want something to tie it to them, so I decided to do the bridge with a Carribean theme. It was a fun challenge figuring out how to quickly transistion from synth-pop to island and back.
