Song Information:

Inspired by Horace Walpole's 1764 novel "The Castle of Otranto", credited by literary scholars as the first "goth" novel. You'll find a succinct plot summary at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Castle_of_Otranto. Seems to me goth is very much alive and well, it's appeal growing, in 2009. This tune itself can't be categorized as goth, although it shares some elements with the symphonic goth metal genre (of which I'm a fan; some of my favorite artists are Kamelot, Fairyland, Symphony X, Nighwish, Within Temptation, and, when she occasionally dips into the genre, Sarah Brightman). Instead, this tune is just a moody tribute to the rebirth of goth in the 21st century.

Composed on the MIDI keyboard using 8 tracks of the CronoX 3 softsynth and 1 track of the Organ 3 softsynth, both AU plug-ins from LinPlug. Mastered with Ozone 4.
