Song Information:
Ignacio Cervantes is an important figure in Cuban music history. Cervantes was among the first to use native Cuban rhythms and idioms in concert music. Cervantes studied piano with the New Orleans virtuoso and composer, Louis Gottschalk. He also studied at the Paris Conservatoire where he studied with Marmontel and Alkan. He then returned to Havana to teach and perform. He toured the United States and Mexico as a concert pianist. 1847-1905 Arrangement for orchestra done from a very rare
piano midi.
