I grew up in a very small town in central Utah. It's home but I never really felt like I fit in there. Somehow my friends and I became aware of life and culture and other things that were completely removed from our rural surroundings. It's hard to explain what it was like to grow up where I did and turn out the way I did. I guess this song is about coming to terms with all that.
