This remix turned into a salvage job! I wanted to do a bunch of cut & paste here -- essentially this song is all cut & paste -- but I found there are limitations to what you can do in GB succesfully. I lost PJ's vocal (which is the reason that I haven't simply replaced the other file), and I lost the original of the guitar track. I think what happened is that when you edit a track, GB saves what you cut out in a clipboard-like way. I was doing all these micro-edits (you can hear the camel-breaking straw after the second chorus), and there got to be too much stuff saved & the tracks just kinda came loose from their moorings. The edits I had made were still physically there, but different sections of the original track appeared where the edits were supposed to be, and were sped up, so they were in no way matching the song. Luckily, I had created an aiff of PJ's original guitar track to bring back & thicken the sound a bit, so when the original went all wonky, I just replaced it with another duplicate. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to salvage his vocal, so I simply resang the part myself. I actually like it OK, not because I'm vain about my voice, but because it gives the song more of a throughline.
