Song Information:
A new fritters song comes along once in a blue moon these days, it seems... This is a mastered version of our latest, with very little compression and no limiting done to it in mastering, just some complicated EQ adjustments. With acoustic music, I think it's important to keep things as unprocessed as possible. I was using Carrie Rodriguez's album "Seven Angels on a Bicycle" album as a guide for the sound. The one with Bill Frisell playing on it; gorgeous album; it reminds me of Kelli a lot. Very simple, and hopefully inspirational. I actually started playing this acoustic guitar part thinking it was a little like Willie Dixon's song, "Hidden Charms", imagine that! Kelli heard the music and came up with this glorious melody. To go along with that I constructed the drum part from a rolling train pattern from EZ Drummer Nashville Kit parts and the banjo and tremelo guitar and bass fell into line after that. The hardest part was resisting the temptation to do more and clutter it up. Low key, but I like it that way!
