Song Information:
This is dedicated to my father-in-law, Arthur Tamkin, who died on Christmas Day. It was rather sudden, and though he lived a good long life, it came as a surprise. I've been trying to think of an appropriate tribute to him, and I came up with this. The title is sort of an answer to "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", since I think that Arthur was a good man that God would just leave the door open for; he did many good works and had a great mind and an adventurous spirit. Instrumentally, this is inspired by Duke Levine's new record "Beneath The Blue". If only I had gotten him to play guitar on it! I play the guitar though my amp, and the rest is software instruments.
