Song Information:
Pop science pundits (and science fiction writers) of the '50s, '60s, and '70s expected that by the turn of the millennium we'd have well-established permanent moon colonies and by now would have planted the first exploratory colony on Mars. When we do get to Mars and erect the first colonies (perhaps like those envisioned in the movie "Total Recall"), what will we feel when we have finally arrived on a world once (and perhaps still) inhabited by alien life forms?
This original MIDI tune (well, except for those great Groove Monkee drum loops) tries to capture the awe and anxiety that a new Mars colonist might feel on his or her first day on the red planet. Eight tracks of Linplug's Sophistry softsynth and one track of the classical ensemble from the new Voices Jam Pack, performed on the M-Audio KeyStation 61es, plus two Roland TR-909 drum tracks.
