Song Information:
This song is a collaboration with Tom Llewellyn, a childhood friend (well, going back to high school, which has been a few years!) Tom is an amazing writer, and he expresses that gift partly through lyrics. When he sends those lyrics my way they inspire music more often than not.
The key thing missing as of first upload on July 2nd is the bass guitar. My friend David already contributed the pre-solo guitar part (we call it the "Cars" part, since it has a bit of that Cars feel) and when time allows he'll drop a great bass part for me to roll into the mix.
I still have to do some final tweaks but wanted to get some MacIdol criticism/advice to help push it the final 10% of the way there. Thanks for giving it a listen!
Song Lyrics:
Laws Are Never Broken
Then I rode
down the hill,
hands away from the handles,
coasting on
my bicycle,
20-degree angle.
When my wheel
met the curb
then I took to flight.
Flew above
the chimney tops
into the clouds and cumulously out of sight.
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Gravity's
tendency
is objects that accelerate
toward each other,
over distance,
until they come together.
So my mass
met the force
of the great attractor.
I broke loose
from the earth
and it's lesser claim upon my tides and weight.
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bottle-a-pop-a-dada
Bridge:
Laws are never broken,
gravity included.
Laws are never broken,
sometimes they're fulfilled.
Then I found
up in space
everything is in orbit,
so I joined
the rotation
'round the greatest mass.
Wish I'd brought
my bicycle
so that I could ride.
Wish I'd brought
a little air
so I could amuse the great attractor with my song.
