Song Information:
This song is from a long ways back. I came up with the riff the song is based on in 95. I used to play this song live with a little folksy band I was in for awhile. In 97 the band played two shows on my birthday which was a lot of fun. One of them was a broadcast on the college radio station. It feels like another lifetime ago. The name comes from an old story about a boy who is the son of deity. He has to leave home to make his own way in the world and must walk to Egypt. Before he leaves the boys father writes a letter to him in the fleshy parts of his heart, reminding him of his royal heritage. The boy gets lost on his way to Egypt and forgets what was written in his heart. Concerned, his father sends him a letter via a royal messenger. As soon as the letter touches the boys hands, he remembers what was written in his heart without even having to read the letter. He finds his way and makes it to Egypt. I really dug the story the first time I read it, and was working on this song at the time, so I gave the song this title.
