Song Information:
based on the short story of the same name by richard brautigan, this is a tune that's been jangling from my guitar for several years now and i'm happy to have finally shat it onto the tape, as it were. in actuality, the songs lost their chart positions, while here they melt into an unharmonious goo. not as subtle as intended, but somewhat evocative i think.
Song Lyrics:
i don't want to think of you
as a lover just passing through
there aren't enough days to live that way
i don't want to be forgiving
after all there's no crime in living
but there is one thing i just don't get
so i burn the radio
and i melt the songs real slow
now the music sounds just how i feel
i don't care if you're through with me
i might acknowledge it distantly
when i see you each night in my sad dreams
i don't want to be forgiving
after all there's no crime in living
but there is one thing i can't forget
so i burn the radio
and i melt the songs real slow
now the music sounds just how i feel
