In a piece recorded in 1977, Laurie Anderson used a vocoder to tell a story about the digital age, a fear of flying, and the Language Of The Future. From an album titled 'You're A Hook' Laurie's piece was featured in a group of various artists reading or performing poetic pieces within their own idiom.
Often, her voice is a couple of octaves lower than her own making it almost unrecognizable. I wanted to give Laurie all the credit that is due for her portion of the piece and I hope she is amused should she hear it.
