The lyrics for this song were inspired by Thoreau. His essay about coming aross the scene of a shipwreck has long been one of my favorite things to read.
I was flying to Boise to visit Amanda and on the way there I read the account over again. I decided to wrote this song.
When I got home I started working on it. My old roomie Lindsay provides the backing vocals on this song.
I think it sounds great. This is one of the best songs I've ever written.
