Song Information:

This may be the very first song I ever wrote on guitar. I was about 17 years old and had just started to teach myself to play. I really couldn't play at all. I dropped the lyrics because when I was seventeen I wrote really dumb lyrics. It was some piece of crap about some girl didn't like me. blah.

Anyway, one day I came home from school and found a bizarre conversation between two children on the answering machine. It was really strange. I took the tape out of the machine and made a copy of it. Later I showed it to a friend I wanted to start a band with and we thought it would be really cool to use it in a song. Well I had this song called The Child so we decided to use the tape in the song. I have a couple of versions of the song we recorded back in 1992. We used a crappy microphone, cassettes and a couple of tape decks so we could do overdubs. We recorded a bunch of songs that way. The recordings sound like crap but I love them. I recently converted all those old tapes into mp3's.

So this song is an oldie. When I bought my first computer, an iBook, I really wanted some recording software. I bought a program called Cubasis. This version of the song was one of the first I recorded with that software. That was almost five years ago.
