GroovProject has just recently released their sophomore CD entitled, "the life, the loss, the love. This soul-jazz band combines heavy bass lines and melodic overtones with a touch of smoothness and rhythm. The CD also features red-hot producer, Mark Torres on "Groov's Joint" and soul vocalist, Tasha Larae on "Lets Stay Together. The band appears in several local hot-spots all-over Atlanta, and is one of the most-sought after independent jazz artists in the area.
Born into a musical family in Kingston, New York, Donovan "Groov" Henderson, started his career as soon as his motor skills would let him- he was last in his line to play drums. All of his cousins were either singing in choir or playing an instrument and one of his uncles, Tony Lindsay, is the lead vocalist for Grammy-award winning, Carlos Santana, for over 15 years. Also the other band mate is Reggie "Fro" Carter, who was born in Washington DC and have been playing since he was 17. Some of their greatest influences are George Duke, Robert Glasper, Herbie Hancock, Mint Condition, Marcus Miller, Earth Wind and Fire, just to name a few.
You can purchase the CD directly from our website www.groovproject.info through PayPal for a LIMITED TIME for only $9.99 (sign guest book)
