So the "album" has been done for about a month now and I've been grinding to get the word out and promote it before it hits store shelves. The downside to being an independent artisit is that you have zero budget for promotion. That of course means that it takes a significant amout of work to get your name and product out there. So you sign up for a million and one MP3 sites, such as this one. You do the myspace thing. You get to as many gigs as you can but the world is such a big place sometimes you get lost among the hundreds of other artists out there doing the same thing. It's frustrating but it makes it all the more worth it when you finally establish yourself. So to all the other struggling and damn near starving artisit out there like myself. Keep pushing on. It can be discouraging at times but if we don't do it, "who the kids gon listen to?" And to everyone who has supported me and helped to get this done and onto the shelves, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! |
