| "Soldier Run (demo)2" | |
| i have gotten lots of email after posting this song and thought i would add some info. this is not a song about celebrating war. it is a song stating a fact. nor am i celebrating soldiering. simply stating somethiing i think we all forget sometimes. soldiers don't run, they die. i started out writing a song that when i read the words from the dreamer in the song (the lady that is pleading with the soldier to run before death comes) i realized i needed to let the soldier respond and the conclusion i reached was what the solider ends up replying back to the dreamer. the song came into being because i had this thing eating at me. what if soldiers the world over just walked off the job and again it hit me like a ton of bricks. it will never happen. why? because soldiers don't run, they just die. it is one of the things that would have to happen in order for the world to know peace. we can all be peace loving souls but until soldiers walk off the job peace will always be a dream. and what would happen on that day? my feeling is the evil in mankind would exploit it somehow and we'd all be no better off for it. a thought for another song that has yet to be finished. | |
