| "Wearing the Green and Gold (demo version)" | |
| Wearing the green & gold. My country's name is across my back, and the print is big and bold; and I shout out aloud in the midst of the crowd that I'm wearing the green & gold. I have my pie--it is steaming hot--; and my can of beer is cold; the coach says, in my dream, "You must join the team!" and I'm wearing the green & gold. Well, we're sharing those great green and golden memories; yes, we're sharing, when we are wearing... Wearing the green & gold. Our compatriots' sporting prowess is wonderful to behold. I don't give a stuff for political guff when I'm wearing the green & gold. My country is a philistine's place--well, that is what were told; but I couldn't care less for unculturedness when I'm wearing the green & gold. Well, we're watching, watching ourselves on the giant screen; and we'repointing and waving, at people wearing... Wearing the green & gold. Our country's name is across our backs, and the print is big and bold; a boxing kangaroo's waving with us too, and we're wearing the green & gold. We have our pies--they are steaming hot--; and our cans of beer are cold; our patriotic throng is singing a song about wearing the green & gold. Well, we're singing, a song about wearing green and gold; yes, we're singing, all about wearing... Wearing the green & gold; and with dye in my hair I haven't a care; we don't give a toss for arty-farty goss.; we don't give a rat's for literary spats, wearing the green & gold. 10 April, 2006 | |
