Family friends since infancy, Winkle and Smothers have been playing together since 1995. Ryan Winkle,aka Deacon, moved to Fayetteville,AR in 1998. By the end of 1999, the two began recording and writing. Although these recordings became tracks on Deacon's second local album in 2000, Dumb Angel was born. A double EP under the name Dumb Angel came forth in 2003 entitled, "Lo Fi American Dream"/"Punk Rock For Breakfast". Written,performed,and recorded in less than 3 days, the double EP was a local success quickly due to it's catchy strangeness. By 2004, Dumb Angel finished their full length rock album in amazingly short time. This album was named "Glamour For Sale" and is one of the best dark glam rock albums to ever be made without record company support. After their first full length album, they did another album the next year entitled "Self Titled", a 60's wall of sound record. In 2005, "Glamour For Sale II" was completed. This record is another kick ass rock album with major depth. Winkle and Smothers are quite proud of that one. Dumb Angel have already completed a masterpiece of a record for 2006 that does not have a title but, is said to have at least 16 songs of brilliance. Some of these new tracks are available to listen to right here on MacIDOL!! Downloading will not be happening anytime soon because these tracks are not mastered yet.
