This song is started so simply, but it seemed to take forever to complete. Basically Kelli had a pretty good basic demo of this song, and Jim proceeded to over-complicate it. Jim plays ukelele, plucked viola, acoustic and electric guitars, piano, keyboard bass, hand drum and played the sort of jazzy piano chord changes in the end while inspired by some cubano loops (but the piano is played and isn't loops). And then it proved to be surprisingly hard for Kelli to get the right sort of feel in the vocal. It's kept pretty dry in the mix since this is such an intimate song, like a one-to-one conversation, and the phone call which happened at the end of one of the vocal takes got moved to the beginning. I hope you like it, since we really don't know what we're doing anymore! haha!
