This song was recorded entirely in Garageband by John Cunningham. The band I play in is called Jesus Martini, and I am now using Garageband to record my songs to present to the band. I am 38 years old and started recording with a tape 4-track when I was 14. I learned to play guitar, bass, sing and keys because I couldn't find other guys to play on my recordings. When Garageband came out it seemed like it was made for me (multi-instrumentalist), and here is one of my first tunes using it.
In entering the competition, somebody thought that I recorded it using something other than Garageband, that to me was a pretty big compliment. The only loops I used were for the drum tracks. All the guitars, bass and vocals were recorded direct and processed with the effects and amp settings that come with Garageband. The Keyboard and Strings are Garageband sounds played with an M-audio keystation.
I love writing and recording with Garageband and welcome emails with specific questions about my recording. Thanks for listening. P.S. This is a song that my band didn't want to add to our set because it was too "ballady", I still like it anyway.
