| This is a total re-work of something else I did but for some reason I called it with the silly title "Funkier and Funkier" but I always the bones of the piece deserved a little better treatment. In particular I didn't think the spoken part worked particularly well. I re-opened it in Logic Express and took out the funkiness and made it more ambient. The speaking is my sister Mary and my brother Bill talking about our parents, a little bit of their story. It was done for a NPR project that was traveling from town to town recording people's stories. This is just part of the whole thing they recorded, parts that I snipped out and at times looped. I added mandolin, and dobro played with an e-bow. I used some of the instrumental tracks that I'd previous recorded but altered them in various ways, a couple electric guitar tracks and a synth track and some percussion. I like it a lot better like this! |
