"Do not allow peer pressure to force you to conform to a style other than your own. Be true to your own instinct," is a motto learned from her first college music theory professor, Alfred Hoose. With roots in Trinidad, W.I., Georgia, Portugal, Senegal, India, China, Scotland, and New York, Asia was born to love all styles of hip hop, jazz, soul, rock, classical and world genres. As the the oldest sibling of 4 and the only child of her mother and father, she was born in Boston and raised in Lynn, MA.

Her vocal and songwriting influences range from singers like Mahalia Jackson, Billie Holiday, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston to Courtney Love, Shakira, Bob Marley and Public Enemy. For production, she is strongly influenced by RZA of the Wu Tang Clan, and Trent Reznor of NIN, Timbaland, and Missy Elliot, and well as Quincy Jones.

As a student at Lynn English High School, she studied voice, and performed locally at functions showcasing the best of Boston's talent.

Today, she calls herself, "an artist".
