Triple Red is a rap collaboration between Mark Rostrup (aka Keen Mark, M-Dog, Baby Face Joe Williams) and MC and beats producer James Harris (aka J-Kash, J-Kent, Jaequon) otherwise known here at Macidol.com as Zebulon Revisited. Our original name was "Red Nex", till we discovered that a band under the same name already existed - they did that one hit dance wonder "Cotton Eyed Joe" back in the day. Thus, we went to work brainstorming new names for our sensational rap band. We were completely stumped, so instead we decided - you know what, lets just make a music video instead. So we filmed a music video to our song "Red Nex" in my barn, and we improvised the entire thing - and out of complete fluke and sheer genius, Mark blurted out in gangsta grace "Triple RED YO!" - ergo our new title of glory spawned. Originally the idea of forming a rap band was just a farfetched idea proposed by Mark - but I thought it "damn man! that can be done yo!" - so I got to work on our first single "Keep It Real". In "Keep It Real" I recorded not only my vocals, but Mark's as well (I tried to mimic his voice) just to see how the song would sound with Mark's contribution. However, we liked it so much the way it was, that we didn't even record a version with both our vocals. This voice mimicing was also done for songs such as "Pimpin' Mario", "True-izzle", "Envirap", "The Ballad Of Johnny Kentucket Pts. I and II", "Work, Cravings, and Battle", "Physics Kicked My Ass" - actually the majority of them are J-Kasheries - but most of our better ones are collabizzles. So what are our raps about? Things like teenage angst, life in the ghetto burbs of G-Spot south, life in the boony boons of country G-Dot north, the perils of physics class, the imperitiveness of wearing a helmet when cycling, velociraptors, quarrels between Darwin and Einstein on whether light can evolve, the hell that was Drivers Ed, the fatigue of work, snacks, and many other peculiar subjects which will make little or no sense to you.
