There is a funny story about the time John Lennon saved my life on a Puerto Rican stretch in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I had lived there for several years and had never brushed into the scraps of gang violence. However, one day I mistakingly walked straight into a gang of shouting hooligans. With trouble rising I grabbed a guitar from the thin blue sky and began singing John Lennon's -"I'm Losing You" Immediately following the song one whipped lover of Lennon's music asked if I also knew the song "Imagine." Instead of a fist I got a request. I sang, said farewell and turn the corner sprinting. Ever since then I felt like Lennon has been looking after me.
