As a long time bassist I've spent considerable time with each of these instruments. Each has it's own unique "personality" that's difficult to put into words but here's my best try.

When I started with MacIDOL and GarageBand 1 there was just my Pismo G3 laptop and a pair of old headphones. We spent a ton of time together learning and having fun making music. As time went on I invested in new gear, a G5 dual processor, KRK speakers, Sony phones, Firebox, GarageBand 3. We're still learning and having fun making music, but now the early songs just don't sound as good as they could. I think the early tunes deserve a new mix and a few musical tweaks on the new gear. Crusin the Causeway was my entry in the first MacIDOL song contest. Working on this song again feels the same as cleaning and polishing up the old classic car.
