MUSIC FOR ME started with a little 2 octave organ for my fifth Christmas. Once I mastered the music to 'Silent Night' with one hand, my parents thought about getting me some piano lessons. Those lessons lasted for about ten years but I never realised my full potential due to hatred of practicing! I guess I have paid the price, but at least I can still read music and have always had good rhythmn. An interest in Rock and Pop music has revitalised my passion for music and a keyboard for my 15th birthday enabled me to start producing my own compositions. That keyboard is still going strong (in fact I need it to be here with me at uni so I can use its MIDI capabilities with GarageBand!!!) and I don't envisage getting a new one any time soon. Recently, for my 21st birthday, I got an electric acoustic guitar which I am avidly trying to learn. Unfortunately, I don't have much time with my current university studies. Then, this January, along came GarageBand, the perfect app for creating amateaur music and, for a recent switcher like me, Apple delivered just what I was looking for. So I am back on a learning curve, and I hope you see that reflected in my music. Now I somehow need to learn to sing! |
