After a long hiatus from playing and writing, I'm just starting to get back into it (as time permits between work and kids). I've been doing MIDI stuff on the Mac since Opcode released their original MIDIMac Sequencer back in the '80s and still have a "vintage" hardware studio (it doesn't see much action these days).
Although I still love working with Opcode Vision, I spend most of my time now working in GB and Logic Pro...it's hard to beat that integration of sequencing and soft-synths.
I'm a fan of orchestral music, but thoroughly enjoy any style done well. Influences? Well, '70s prog and classical music is what first inspired me to get into doing music...so I would say Yes, Pink Floyd, early Genesis etc etc. Also Stravinsky, Copland, Vaughan-Williams, Debussy...all those early 20th century composers. Also I really like ethnic and world music.
