I was born in Calexico, California, the oldest of 5 boys. We grew up in a time when the Osmonds, the Jackson 5 and Tony deFranco and the deFranco family seemed to be neck and neck for popularity. (I thought Michael Jackson was the big winner until quite recently btw).
I've lived in Sacramento, San Francisco and now New York City. Began writing songs, mostly ballads, when I was 14 growing up in Sacramento in the Land Park area.
Coming from a small town and having had the opportunity to travel the world, always with guitar in hand, has given me a profound appreciation for life and the importance of music. My guitar was always my passport to friendship (and more!) I've listed my musical influences, but really now I'm more influenced by my favorite poets, Akhmatova, Pushkin, Emerson. You'd think I'd be a better musician at this point. Oh well! Late bloomer til the end.
