| we were walking down the street to washington square checking out the people who were gathering there with nothing on our minds but a drink and a song hanging in the city all day long all day long well, we met up with some friends watching a street show juggling fire, that ain't the way to go further down on the stage in leather and boots the punks hanging out with nothing to do nothing to do with the sun shining bright what a beautiful day had to buy me some shades along the way we tiptoe through heaven passing by a cafe we stop and read the sign someone's out of town, so there's a drink we should be buying step into the bar place our orders and sit down many masterpieces drawn many drinks all around have another round time zooming by it's late afternoon say goodbye to some friends we'll be seeing real soon grab a cab, destination: life cafe hanging out, mellow, in the city that's the only way with the sun in the west over new york town heading out to chelsea for another round tiptoe through heaven tiptoe through heaven on a sunny afternoon just being mellow with friends singing a happy tune tiptoe through heaven feel like a dharma bum in the rough no time for anything, just hanging out and stuff tiptoe through heaven walking down the street feeling light as air singing and dancing without a care nothing on our minds but a drink and a song hanging out in the city all night long met up with some friends on the upper east side ended up with extra baggage in a taxi ride song and dance, nothing else to do on our trip through heaven gotta know the truth know what to do with the sun in the west over new york town heading out to chelsea for another round we tiptoe through heaven © Erica Rowell 2006.
