Biography

Mark D'Antonio is a professional Conga player currently residing on the island of Maui, Hawaii. He has been a 'student of the drum' since beginning his studies on the traditional drum kit at age 9 and his eventual focus on the Conga drums (tumbadoras) and the complex rhythms of Cuba at the age of 15.

He considers himself fortunate to have studied with some of the today's most talented hand drummers, and is honored to expand his knowledge of traditional Cuban, Puerto Rican and West African rhythms and patterns.

These essential music foundations create a base in which to fuse and assimilate the diverse modern music that he surrounds himself with. Taking these tools and creating a unique style is the path many musicians spend their lives pursuing, and creates a wide variety of musical settings to perform, record and musically interact. Mark continues to evolve with today's incredible fusions of sound.
