The Judgement of Man-God

The Judgment of Man-God

I held the world up to my ear today
Machines roared, stomachs growled, people brayed
Despite the volume of the din
I was tempted to join in
And add my pompous voice to the fray

I try to keep up
I do what I must
According to the judgment of a Man-God

I held the world up in front of my eyes
I saw some things and thus to others was blind
The world we found wasn't enough
So we remade it to suit us
Ape begat man begat man-god

The mind tries to keep up
The body does what it must
Underfoot, the planet spins on and on

I tried to think about the world today
The more I know the more there is to explain
I sometimes want to know
I sometimes just let go
And let my senses play tricks on my brain
