Biography once in a while, the industry gives birth to a sound capable of transcending the barrier of genre; appealing to the taste of all who encounter it. G.I.I.S. is in possession of that sound, and the world is in for a tantalizing treat indeed. It would not be an exaggeration to say that G.I.I.S. has been in the making since the members were born. Consisting of two siblings and a cousin, it is easy to see how the loyal blood lines and obvious camaraderie contribute to the trio’s innate sense of oneness. Working together to formulate their uniquely fluid sound, they are able to combine their gifts to serve up a complete, fully satisfying, and delightful experience for listeners. Richly melodic tones, kinetic vibrancy, and glowing energy flow through each track; trapping you in the word spell. You will find yourself hanging on to the last word, and anticipating the next as Mike “Mikey Fresh” weaves his intricate tales, set to his own original beats. Jonathan “J. Prise” keeps you on your toes as he showcases the dexterity with which he manipulates the English language-using a tirade of metaphors designed to provoke thought. And as if that wasn’t enough, Harry “Hi-Def” is able to cool it down and heat it up at the same time, with his velvety penetrating voice guaranteed to have all the ladies swooning at the first note. Similar to the styling of his mentor, Brian McKnight, “Hi-Def” brings back the era of the serenade, while adding to it his own subtle sensuousness. From humble beginnings, this group has overcome many shortcomings to achieve their dream. Born to hard working Haitian immigrant parents, all three have a strong work ethic and are motivated by more than the glitter and gold of success. When passion for the art of creating music, natural talent, and hard work come together, we get something akin to what we see here in this group. Instead of “two turn tables and a microphone”, these men perfected their craft using a simple PC recorder, and a basic mic from an electronic store. Following in the footsteps of many great artists, the three are also a product of the “chuch”. The trio was enlightening the congregation long before bringing their flow to multitudes; explaining the ease with which they command the stage as well as the audience. One of the most outstanding features of this group is that they write and produce their own material; instantly setting them apart from the majority of R & B/Hip-Hop/Soul artists.. GIIS is what the industry has been craving, and anxiously awaiting for quite some time. The public will be left satisfied and wanting more once they get a taste of what this trio has to offer
