Ok what is up with the new iTunes? It appears you can only make one size MP3 now. Or have I missed something?
I guess this mean lo-fi is out of the question if I haven't missed anything.

| Best Free Apps? |

Since the app store is out now, and hopefully you should have been able to update your iPhone/iPod touch, what do you think the best free apps out there are?
Personally, I think that remote is a great app and a great idea, the way you can control what your computer is playing even when your nowhere near it. With some airport speakers it's a fantastic combination.
Games wise, I've found that cube runner is really addictive. It uses the accelerometer really well, and I spent about 30 mins on it and it never gets boring.
But one of the best for me, as I'm a gamer, is the IGN reviews too. Just click it, and you can read (or watch) all the latest reviews for games, and for me this is great. It's alot easier than going to the IGN site in the browser, plus you can watch the vide reviews.
So, what are your top free apps?

Thought I would start a new thread for this one, although BeatMaker has been discussed before here, I think it warrants a specific thread.
I have been having a lot of fun playing with BeatMaker. It reminds me a little bit of Reason crossed with an MPC60. The interface takes a little bit of getting used to, and it would be really cool if it could export Apple Loops and Midi files, but it is a lot of fun, and really shows how good the iPhone/iPod Touch is as a musical instrument.
What is cool is that you can create your own kits. Here is one I made from the newly re-found MacIDOL SampleBank.
Note: 5.8MB File for use only with BeatMaker!
Also I created a thread on the BeatMaker discussion boards.

I have an old 4th Generation Ipod and it has seemed to stop playing songs smoothly, it will play for a few minutes then stop and continue to skip to the next song. I have tried resetting and restoring it, but nothing works. When I listen to the back of it, it sounds like the hard drive is skipping? How can I fix this?

Hi everyone,
We're working hard on a version 1.1 that will fix the main problems that people have brought up like repetition, download errors, etc. If there's anything else that you've noticed about the app can you leave us a message here so we can look into it? Thanks!
Enjoy,

| Welcome to the MacIDOL iPod and iTunes Forum |
The Apple iPod has helped ignite the music business. Combined with the success of the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) . Apple are now a major player in the music industry.
As Mac Musicians we are ideally placed to share some of this success. We use the iPod in many different ways, to help master our music, as a backup/transportation tool and for what it was designed for - listening to music.
iTunes is our default music player, we use it to catalogue and index our music collections and buy new music from the iTMS and play original (legal) music streams, playlists and downloads from MacIDOL and other music sites.
Getting your music listed on the iTMS may be one of your goals, so feel free to discuss this and anything else relating to the iPod, iTunes and the ITMS.
Remember like all our other discussions - lets keep it positive.
Thanks
Rich
